Introduce Yourself to Our Audience:

Hi! I’m Morgan Griffin and I’ve been involved in ct community theatre performing and stage managing for the past 10 years and I’m so excited to be portraying the Kit Kat girl Texas in my first show at CTC!!!

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

I had been searching for a production of “Cabaret” because performing in the Kit Kat Klub has been a dream role forever! I also wanted to branch out and get involved somewhere I’d never been before!

How do you prepare for a new role or character, and what techniques do you use?

I research different character analysis and take what I like the best from those. I am also running through lyrics and choreography 24/7 in my head until we open.

What do you love about your character?

I love that she’s kind of removed from the weight of the show and is just there to dance and have a good time!

What challenges did you face bringing the script to life?

It was definitely a challenge trying to figure out how to sing in German while also keeping up with choreography.

Who do you look up to (as an actor/director/etc.)?

I’ve always looked up to Sutton Foster. I love that she is never afraid to make a fool out of herself.

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up?

I shake everything out and remind myself to have fun!

What is your favorite film or theater production and why?
“Cabaret”!! Not only is the score fantastic but it is the type of show that leaves you speechless and maybe makes you think a little differently. It feels important to share with others.

Cabaret opened July 19th and runs through August 4th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!

“A stunning musical… this marionette’s-eye view of a time and place in our lives that was brassy, wanton, carefree and doomed to crumble is brilliantly conceived.”– Walter Kerr, The New York Times

“Stunning… a masterpiece of musical theater penned as a cautionary tale and not at all leavened by the embrace of paradox.” – Chris Jones, The Chicago Tribune
