Introduce Yourself to Our Audience:

Hello!  I’m Angelina!

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

I wanted to be involved in this production because it has always been a dream of mine to be a dancer in a Fosse show. It’s my favorite style of technique to perform and has been my entire life. So I knew if I didn’t audition I would regret it. And I’m so grateful to be in this cast.

How do you prepare for a new role or character, and what techniques do you use?

I’m always so excited for a new role or project. I prepare by staying open minded and always being curious about the character. It’s like making a new friend, you want to learn every thing about them and you want them to be taken care of.

What do you love about your character?

I love my character Lulu’s confidence. She wants you to watch her and wants you to love her, and it’s so fun to have the freedom to embrace and embody that in rehearsals and when we get on stage.

What challenges did you face bringing the script to life?

My personal challenges with bringing this script to life have been in music rehearsals. I have always been self conscious about my vocal abilities, but the production team has been so great and supportive throughout this entire process, so now I’m just excited to perform. Rehearsals have been a very safe space to learn and grow.

Who do you look up to (as an actor/director/etc.)?

I really look up to my vocal/audition coach, Katy Pfaffl. She made her way in New York City and on Broadway and now dedicates her life to helping actors make their own dreams come true. So much of the success that I’ve found in my performance career I owe to her and the confidence she has helped me find in myself over the years.

What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up?

I am stretching & warming up until the last second I go on stage no matter what the project is. But right before the curtain goes up, I close my eyes and remind myself to take fear in one hand, and hope in the other, and to bring them both on stage with me. I smile and remind myself why I love what I do, and I take the stage ready and excited and grateful.

What is your favorite film or theater production and why?

My favorite theater production in recent years is the revival of “The Light in the Piazza” that was part of the 2023 Encores season at the New York City Center. I have never been so affected by live theater and it forever changed me. Everything about it was the perfect; the casting, the music, the set pieces, everything. I was working at the theater at the time so I got to soak in every moment of the run and I will never forget how perfect it was. I was inspired by it beyond words.

Cabaret opens July 19th and runs through August 4th at Connecticut Theatre Company. Tickets on sale now!

“A stunning musical… this marionette’s-eye view of a time and place in our lives that was brassy, wanton, carefree and doomed to crumble is brilliantly conceived.”– Walter Kerr, The New York Times

“Stunning… a masterpiece of musical theater penned as a cautionary tale and not at all leavened by the embrace of paradox.” – Chris Jones, The Chicago Tribune
